In the Lair of the Jaguar (book)

On the 60th anniversary of the Abruzzi emigration to the agricultural colonies of Boa União, Itiruçu and Jaguaquara, Zoe publish a photo book complete with an in-depth study on a historical case until now overlooked.
The authors, Giuseppe Benedini and Matthew Arquilla, retrace more than half a century of our history since the war to date, to know better the places and the Italian epic protagonists in the tropical lands of Bahia. All this through the words of the protagonists, old photographs and unpublished documents.
Boa União, Itiruçu and Jaguaquara fit into the wider Italian emigration process after World War II that affected many other regions of the world and of the same Brazil.

The history of a people in search of its continuity, even when it meant abandoning their land and their habits in favor of a "new world".
A foreign land, but welcoming, involving the emigrant in a dialectic between tradition and integration, and which has as its summary, the daily practice of multiculturalism

The book, printed in 600 copies, has informative character and has been presented in various institutions of the Abruzzo region, with the involvement of the privileged witnesses of migration era. Most of the copies of the book were donated to public and private libraries in the region.
